I didn't but I think an app is an amazing idea! Or even an app to track kicks hourly or so. I remember just thinking when was the last time I did feel her move
no. i only kick-counted when i realized i hadn't felt her in a while. this was usually at work and i was busy--so that was probably why i didn't feel her. but i never stopped, laid down, drank juice, etc as suggested..i just tried to become more aware and counted in my head.

This. So far I've been lucky that shortly after getting a paranoid feeling that I haven't felt her in a while, she'll decide to flip or kick. But like jennlin, it's generally when I've been distracted doing something else and haven't been paying attention anyway.

This! An app would make it easier though for when I needed to because a worksheet is a pita.
naw...I just make sure I notice her moving once or twice a day...and generally being active. I stopped doing formal kick counts after a week of them with DD#1
I did them a few times with each baby. With Anna I did use an app--I think it was a feature of the BabyCenter one. It did make it really easy. I also used your other ones in the early days with her and they were great!
I have a kick-count app, but it has been a pain to find one I like. The one I have I'm just OK with. I would really like one that would stop my screen from blacking out (nothing like trying to relax and not obsess about the next kick when you have to keep your phone from sleeping and possibly stopping the timer), let me just push a button to count kicks, and save records even if I don't get up to 10 kicks (so I can look back for patterns). It would also be great if I could get it to auto-stop the timer after 10 kicks *if I set it to*. Mainly, I want a way to not have to pay too much attention to it so I can relax while doing it and make it easy!
I will say I haven't used a kick counter much since I've hit the point where I'm evidently supposed to...mostly I used it more when she was first moving and it was so much fun to focus on :-) Now it's fun but more every-day.

What kind of app was your first?
Yes, I'm pestering DH to add in a feature so it doesn't time out on me. They are mostly baby-related apps and since you are the second person to ask maybe I'll post some info: DH's name is Michael Kale and its pretty easy to find the site with a Google Search or in the App Store.
Yes! I'm hoping to have a smartphone by the time I'm knocked up again...
I did kick counts regularly near the end for various reasons, usually at bedtime. An app would be nice as my mind was always wandering as I was usually stressed and nauseous...
Re: Kick Counts?
I never did, but that sounds like a cool app!
What was your first one again? And how has it done?

Thanks guys. It sounds like either kicks per hour or the time it takes to get to 10 movements is pretty standard?
I get pretty nervous about crossing over into vendor territory but I will totally share info and free codes if you PM me.
