We met with one of the midwives today and got another blood draw. It's been over 72 hours since our first and my hcg levels didn't quite double, but came close. (~36000 to 64061 today).
The midwife said it is difficult to interpret. I don't know what to make of this and I'm really not holding it together at work well right now. I guess I'm lucky I have an office and most people here are gone now so no one will hear me cry.
Thanks for all your t&p and if you have some time, please continue to think of us. We have a follow up ulrasound on Friday and my only hope right now is that I'm not carrying a dying baby inside of me and that it will show us something hopeful.
But it's going to be a long wait.
Re: Update
I'm really surprised the midwife didn't give you a more positive spin on the results. My HCG levels after cramps/bleeding at around 7-8weeks didn't double either...they weren't even as nice as yours, and the OB said that by this time in the pregnancy they aren't necessarily going to see "doubling"...but they like seeing that they are going up by a significant amount. Now if they were going down...that would be negative news.
Do you go in next for an ultrasound to check placement and heartbeat? Good luck! I'm pulling for you...it ain't over til the fat lady sings, so don't let your hopes down too early
This! We're all pulling for you!
