So tired of Carters brand clothes..what else is inexpensive?

I do love Carters but I want to get some different brands..nothing fancy or designer..just something else. (bright colors and not all pastels)

I feel like LO's clothes all look the same because I received so much Carters or 'Just One You' at her shower.

Where else can I shop and spend the same?

  • Sometimes Target has cute kids clothes. But my favorites for kids clothing is Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Ross etc...you can get really cute designer clothes for relatively cheap!

  • Target, Old Navy, Crazy 8 (the lower price sister store to Gymboree) and Gymboree (when they have a sale)
  • The Childrens Place. We have an outlet close to my house and they had some stuff as low as 2.99.

  • I get Gymboree from an Ebay wholesaler, it comes out to about the same as Carter's regular price.
  • I haven`t had  a little one in four years, but expecting a new one.  My sister has one of each, and she loves the brand Joe.  It is inexpensive, and has some amazingly cute clothing.
  • Try Naartjie.  Not sure if you have one locally, but you can buy online, they have good sales, and often have cute stuff.

Also, I think Crazy 8 is cheaper Gymboree.  I don't love their stuff because they have tons of cartoony looking animals, but if you like Gymboree it is really similar.

  • H&M has some really affordable and adorable clothes! I primarily shop there

  • I hate Carter's clothes. They're cheap and so unoriginal. I love Baby Gap for basics. If you have an outlet, they've got pants for as low as $12 and shirts as low as $6, plus I signed up for email coupons and I get one at least once a month. Baby Gap has sales that make it cheaper than Old Navy fairly often as well. I've found some great things on the clearance rack that are still seasonally appropriate.

Kohl's, The Children's Place, and Old Navy are my other go to anti-Carter's stores.

I have nothing to add from the above posts but I just have to know where you got that hat...it is ADORABLE!

  • I've found that Circo at Target is pretty good & Faded Glory or Granimals at Walmart are good as well.

  • We have been lucky enough to receive a lot of gifts or 2nd hand clothing from people.  I've learned from that to shop consignment sales/stores and you'll find cheap good clothing.

BUT...if in a pinch, Target sometimes has good stuff (I feel you have to be a bit picky) and so does Old Navy (you can find good deals/coupons if you plan ahead).

  • I second H&M. Their clothes are always cheap and insanely cute. Old Navy has lots of cute stuff and you can't go wrong with Marshall's or TJMAXX.
  • I love crazy 8, they have good prices when they have sales.  I got sooo much stuff at the end of the season that I can use later on.  I also like Children's Place.  They are a little more expensive, but I only buy sale items.
  • I second the Children's Place and Target for inexpensive baby/toddler clothes!

  • I <3 Carter's, but I also shop at Target (Circo and Cherokee brands) and Children's Place for basics.  I shop at Crazy 8 for nicer outfits when they have sales.  I also like Old Navy.

  • I love Gymboree.  I always find good deals when I combine sales and coupons.  I stock up when they have their red balloon sales.

  • I too am tired of Carters. They are nice...but EVERYWHERE! We got very few baby gifts, however, since every store has Carter's we got so many duplicates. They're cute...but I hate going out and seeing other babies with the same outfits we have.

I haven't read PP so sorry if I repeat. Right now I've been getting some fabulous deals on JCPenney.com. I just got 4 pairs of jeans for LO for $12.74.

We have a boy and my husband is in love with Carhartt and Oshkosh clothing. Odd as it seems we shop for LO's clothes a lot at farm stores (TSC, etc). They have some cute girl stuff too if you like overalls and such.

I LOVE Old Navy clothes...they're always different and lots of times they have good sales...especially online (they have lots of 30% off days).

BRU has some cute things...but I always find them horribly expensive!

  • Old navy and Target!!
  • I really support the idea of recycling so I prefer to buy used off of Ebay. With tiny babies, the wear and tear is so minimal it's like buying new.  If you aren't opposed, try your favorite brands.

  • Try Old Navy, GAP clearance racks, Gymboree clearance racks during sales, consignment (Just Between Friends is a good one).
