Did anyone with twins or multiples in general find it necessary to get a bigger diaper bag? Maybe it's because I'm not experienced with this but the normal bags just seem a bit small to fit everything for two.
I'm anxious to hear about this. I have one bag packed for the hospital but I don't have everything in there. I'm wondering if I will need one bag for each baby or if I will need a huge bag or what.

I bought a messenger bag from LL Bean, they have tons of colors/prints and will even monogram it for you if that's your thing. I didn't really love any of the diaper bags I looked at. This messenger bag has plenty of pockets and plenty of space. And they do a lifetime guarantee so if something happens to it they replace it for free. Mine is still in good shape after 2 years
My twins aren't here yet but I had a Vera Bradley baby bag with DD and I feel like it's going to work fine for the boys. I love it! It's a bit stretchy (so you can cram stuff in if needed) has lots of pockets and is washable.
I tried using 2 different diaper bags before I settled on the Skip Hop Duo Double. It's huge and definitely has enough room for 2 babies worth of stuff. I tend to carry a lot so I was happier with a larger bag. Depending on how much stuff you're going to carry, you might be able to use a regular diaper bag or you might prefer a larger one. Just depends on how much you're thinking of carrying. I would decide what you want in the diaper bag and set it all out in front of you. Then you can better decide if you need a larger bag or if a regular one will do.

This. I am a big fan of a fully stocked diaper bag at all times and could not do with anything smaller.
I have the Lands End Do-It-All diaper bag. I like that it opens really wide so you can really see into the bag, and it holds everything I need for both babies. Our nanny seems to like it too, and I've had other twin moms comment that it holds a lot but isn't gigantic. The changing pad that comes with it is big enough for an older baby too--a friend had a bag with a changing pad that was so small her baby was too long for it by 6 months. This is what is in it currently:
*6 disposable size 3 diapers *two rattles (other toys are attached to their car seats; if we're going somewhere with the purpose of playing, I'll bring more toys separately) *travel-size container of wipes *hand sanitizer *two onesies *two pairs of pants *two sleepers *4 cloth diapers *cloth diaper medium-size wet bag *bag with a ton of ziploc bags in it *travel size package of tissues *6 granola bars (for me--ha) *bottle of water (also for me just in case) *snack trapper full of Cheerios
There'd be room for a couple more cloth diapers or clothes if I wanted to jam it; as it is, it zips shut just fine. I found that the more stuff I tried to add, the less I could find what I needed and the extra stuff just took up space because I wasn't using it.
I'm not a huge diaper bag person, but I've done through an assortment of things. I've generally had a backpack. I started with a Columbia bag, but after two forgotten bottles, I gave up on it. Then I just used a similac bag that I got from the hospital. I would just have the basics in it for an outing. I would keep a second bag in the car with more stuff. I liked that because it was small enough I could shove it in the basket of the DSNG or Phil and Ted's stroller. When they started eating more table food, I upgraded to a Skip Hop Via Backback which I liked because it had two big compartments--I could put food in one and diaper stuff in the other. I also liked that it had two external pockets that I used for sippy cups. We had a little issue with a squirrel eating through a strap and I just replaced it with a basic Land's End backpack which is what I'm using now. I just got the features I liked from the Skip Hop (two main compartments and two external pockets for cups/water bottles.

I have the Skip Hop Duo Double, and is very spacious! It was perfect for when babies were infants and had to travel with tons of bottles, and extra clothes (one was a bit spitter-upper). However, now it is too big for us. I only travel (for normal trips around town) with a change of clothes ea, diapers, and wipes. I always keep food in their "lunch box" for logistics. I have a "normal" size Coach bag which serves its purpose.
ETA - I love that it has tons of pockets for organization, both inside and outside. Plus it has special clips to attach to stroller, keeping bag up high, and not haning from the shoulder strap (causing bag to be closer to ground).
