I just got ready 450 ounces to give to Blondie's friend who had a double mastectomy. And I'm still keeping 4 boxes (about 400 ounces) for us. Yowza.
The woman is on her way to pick it up. I'm so excited to get to do this!!
ETA: She just came and picked it all up! She was SO sweet, and her baby (5.5 weeks old) is a squishy little cutie! Her other donor had just started to run out, so this was perfect timing! We were both all weepy and smiley and hugged a bunch. Happy day. :-)
Re: So I underestimated the stash (donation update)
Yay! This is awesome!
:-D
1. You rock. Duh.
2. How in the world did you produce that much? Especially with a toddler and working full time? Did you pump a lot before returning to work? Fenugreek? What's your secret? That's amazing!

Luckily I respond well to the pump! I would pump 5-6 ounces every time, and at most DS was only taking 4-5. So on any given day, I'd pump about 11 ounces and we'd only send about 9 to school. I also pump to empty before bed every day, which is usually around 3 ounces, but sometimes more. So every week day I was banking about 5 ounces and on weekends 3ish. And then lately, when DS stopped taking the bottle at all, I'd pump once immediately when I get to work and get around anywhere from 4-8 ounces (depending on how full I was from overnight and how much he ate before I left for work) PLUS whatever I was getting from my before-bed pump. And that was all bank...none was coming out anymore. We do give him about 2-3 ounces every morning in his oatmeal, but that's it.
Just a simple case of more in than out.
Oh, and I eat lactation cookies, obv. Because cookies that are medically necessary? Yes, please.

Bah!!! That is AWESOME!!
Alice had about 100 ounces of milk from a friend of mine so that I wouldn't have to supplement at one point. I feel like we'll always be connected in an odd way.
I am so happy for you and for her! What a wonderful gift!

Yes! Alice and your friend's children, and Rssn's kids and Blondie's friend's kid are milk siblings!
So sweet. I love this.
I asked the Honey Badger and even he thinks you're prettybadass!
Wowsa!! I do NOT respond that well to a pump, so I am in awe and also a little envious.
Hats off to you for doing such an amazing thing for a mom in need.
You rock! Love ya!
