If you used a national website, please recommend. I need to find daycare for 2 days per week so hoping to either get in-home care or send her to at home daycare. Not sure how to start...did anyone use craigslist?? TIA!
We found our in home provider through my DH's boss. Him and his g/f had been taking their DD there and they gave a really good reference. She is licensed and we really like how she is with DD.
If you are considering in home as an option. I know our state's DHS website has a listing of all in home daycares. You are also able to view any negative findings or anything on that nature. Maybe your state has something along that.
Also I know there is a website called care.com but I am not sure how much they have for in home providers...I always thought of that as a babysitter/nanny type search website.

Last time I had to look I used metrodaycare.com. They list all licensed DCPs (home and/or centers) and show you on a map where they're located. I started out with the most conveniently located and from there, I did some google searching and made lots of calls. We ended up with a great place.
I just checked out that website and it didn't list any in-home daycares near me. If that's what you want, you could also look and see if your county (in addition to state) has a list of licensed providers. Small in-homes may not know (or need) to advertise on a national website.
Re: Recommend website to find care...
IMO I wouldn't turn to craigslist.
