I've been having lots of pressure this past week so I was looking forward to my appt today. I was 3-4cm dilated last week and today I was close to 5. I'm confused because I'm progressing really well, but I haven't had any seriously painful contractions. I'm so worried that I'll go in to the hospital and the baby will be crowning! The doc told me to go in if I feel any "serious" contractions consecutively. At this point, he said L&D won't turn me away, so should I just plan to go in one day this week. We scheduled induction for, yes, the 29th-leap year possibly-, so, do I wait on the induction or go in?
Re: Dr.'s Appt today
I am not a doctor and I am a FTM so take this with a grain of salt, not to mention your hospital procedures may be different than mine.
I would wait until you have regular contractions. You are dialating and progressing really well, just take that as less work your body has to do when labor starts. However you are not in labor yet, my hospital wont admit you unless you are dialated more than a 4 AND have regular contractions for longer than an hour.
I wouldnt hesitate when you do start feeling the regular contractions though. I would go right away because you are already to a 5. Sounds like it should be soon, I would be suprised if you made it to your induction date.
