Are there any names you really like but can't or won't use them for whatever reason? Maybe your niece or nephew's name, or a name that would sound crazy with your last name?
For example, I've always loved the name Julianna. However, using that name with our last name would be ridiculous (think Julia Gulia from The Wedding Singer). Sad.

All favorites of mine and all spoken for. It's really put a damper on my boy choices.
And I'm teetering on our preferred girls name as the nickname would be the same as my niece who we're close to.
I love Patrick and Ian but we have family members with those names so we won't repeat.
I also love Caitlin, Shannon, and Ronan but they sound terrible with our last name.

I love the name Bennett for a boy, but my nephew's name is Benjamin so I'd never use it. I don't like it better than Reid and since this is our last baby, we're good
Oh, and I like Harper for a girl, but I think it sounds too much like Carter so I won't use it.

Austin- it was my grandfather's name and it is the name of my little brother
Ann- family name already used
I'm sure there are a few others but my brain is not functioning very well at this point in the day.

I'd still use it. Emma is a pretty popular name so everyone knows someone (or five) who have a kid named Emma.
Have you considered Emerson? That's our girl name for this baby (Emerson Mae) and we plan to call her either Eme Mae or Emma Mae, but most likely Eme, since it's less popular.
My friend's baby is Emeline. Cute.

There are a few names that I used to like but won't use because they've just gotten to be too popular.
The other names I love and can't use are the ones that DH vetoed. No biggie - we at least have some that we do agree on.

Ugh same story here. I have ALWAYS loved the name Liam, long before it appeared on the top ten baby boy charts. Any way, I dated this guy named Liam for what seemed like two minutes, and DH gets so offended when I bring up that name while talking baby names. I'm hoping he just gets over it because I think its soo cute!
Ooooh, let's see here..
Theodore. I have this fascination with Theodore Roosevelt (my favorite historical figure) and I would love to have a son to call Teddy, but our last name ain't gonna work. Teddy [Our Last Name] would be the same as a delicious snack of little edible bears.
Isabella. I've loved that name forever, but I don't want anyone to think it's because of "Twilight."
Savannah. Our niece is named Hannah, and we've all laughed about how cute it would be if we had girls and we could call them Hannah and Savannah, but I don't think I could ever go there.
Elizabeth. I love this name so much, and I'm still toying with the idea of doing a double middle name if we have a little girl, but I'm hesitant because DH's grandmother's name is Elizabeth and she's a holy terror. I don't want her to think the name is in honor of her, but I don't know how else we'd go about using it without her getting that impression.

The names I love but would never use are more of "guilty pleasure" names like Ginger and Dixie.
Realistically, I like Andrew, but with our last name it would be too much like Andrew Dice Clay.
I have loved the name "Dane" ever since I watched the Thornbirds miniseries!! But my husband hates it with a passion, so I can never use it.
I also really love the name "Greer" for a girl because I'm an old movie fan and loved Greer Garson, but it's a little too obscure. My biggest fear is saddling my kid with a name that will result in them getting mocked at school.

I have always LOVED the name Charlie, growing up it reminded me of reading my favorite book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But when I got married my last name became Brown, and well, I could never do that to my child!!
I was dead set on Harper Lynn for a girl.
Just happened to be looking at my cousins blog one day and what do you know if she named her baby Harper Linn.
I was so aggravated! haha So thats out
I love so many boy names, but my husband hates most of them. We have narrowed down 2 girl names - thankfully.... but only one sounds good with Elizabeth (my name) as a middle name. (I'd really like to name a daughter after myself - our second son is named after my DH).
With our second, we had our boy name picked out instantly... and struggled with finding a girl name we both liked. now its almost the opposite - so maybe this means we are having a girl this time... I guess we'll wait to find out in 6.5 months (yes, team Green for our last horrah!)
This is AWESOME.

I love the name Sarah but combined with our last name, it becomes the name of a major food company, so that's out.
I also like the name Rachel but DH dated someone with that name once and can't get over it.
William is a popular name (historically) on my side of the family and I like it, but DH has a cousin with that name and the nickname Will would also be really bad with our last name. We might still use this one as a middle name, though.
I loved, loved Harper Grace for the longest time. It was my grandmother's name - Grace Harper but when celebrities started in on that name (one of which has the same middle name) I was over it. Now I see so many Harpers, I'm getting sick of the name.
Both MH and I have very popular names and I vowed not to do that to our baby. Not that the name won't be trendy but not like 5 to a class.

Harper-too many people I know is planning on or have already named their kid this.
I really like Alexander, but I have a niece that's Alexandra. And DH likes Preston, but a nephew is Treston....
DH also likes Hunter but since he is a hunter, I don't like it.
And I like Lucas but DH has a cousin that he really doesn't like with the same name....
It's hard picking names! I love Jacob. And I love Twilight, but I would never name my kid after a movie. Plus, I'm team Edward.
Luckily, we have lots of time to find that perfect name!
So would I - it's such a trendy name right now that it wouldn't bother me if I was into trendy names.
