Going through a m/c (which a chemical pregnancy IS) is hard enough that you don't need a$$hats like her. I'm so sorry you had to deal with that.

I had to deal with a wretched wench when I had a miscarriage before DS. The nurse just looked at me and said oh its not a good pregnancy. You're going to pass this one. I started crying and she just said, well its probably better seeing as you're not married. She was sooo lucky I didn't punch her in the face, or maybe I was the lucky one for not doing it and going to jail.

So I just wanted to add, in addition to filing a formal complaint, I'd take to social media too. I'd tweet the crap out of the office and her name. That'll get them to take notice. I've had a few companies address me personally after I've complained about them on twitter.

She is a solo practitioner but attached to a hospital.  I will definitely be complaining about her to the hospital, my insurance company and on Angie's List.

Obviously I guess there is a slight chance that she was just disconnected, but even if that was the case, I would expect her to call me back.  I was obviously upset and am in a fragile state of mind with everything going on so she was completely irresponsible to not call me back.

FML... this is the last thing I even want to think about right now

The doctor called Dawn to check on her. If the call were dropped, which is definitely possible, the doctor should have called back instead of blowing it off. The problem is that the doctor has been completely insensitive and inappropriate from the start.

YES, there usually is.  If your doctor is affiliated with a hospital, especially if it's an academic hospital, you can call their Patient Advocacy Hotline.  You should do that right away.  That horrible behavior needs to be documented.

And when you get off the phone, you need to call a new doctor.  I know that the idea of finding someone new is probably totally overwhelming right now, but you can't continue with this quality of care.  You deserve so much more.

I'm sorry, chickadee.  I hate doctors a lot of the time--and i live with one.  She had NO RIGHT to treat you like that!

People like this don't deserve to be in a profession of helping others. Make sure you find her doctor profile online and make it known what happened so others know what a royal B she can be before choosing her as a doc.
