I never wore DD, but I assume I'll need to wear DS more b/c of DD. I don't plan on getting a double stroller until he's able to sit in an umbrella. I also don't plan on wearing a lot, just when needed. I do want to have something that can be used from day 1 however (I have two carriers from a friend, not sure what brand, but they don't seem like they'll work for a newborn). Also, I'm having him on July 2, in 100 degree weather, so I'm not really wanting a Moby wrap.
I kind of like the look/convenience of a Mei Tei vs. a sling.
While I do plan to EBF, I won't NIP, though using a carrier to nurse at home may be easier when dealing with DD as well.
Thoughts/opinions/recommendations of brands? Thanks so much!
Re: The one millionith question about carriers
Both a mei tai and a ring sling sound like they would meet your needs. A mei tai is a bit easier to feel confident about using hands free from the beginning. Good brands are Kozy Carrier, Babyhawk, and Freehand. It does take a teeny bit longer to get a mei tai tied vs. a ring sling adjusted, but it's easy to take the baby in and out once it's on.
If you're not sure about putting $60+ into a carrier, look for a used one. If you ask nicely, there are ladies here that will help you track down a deal.

I wrapped LO in a blanket and put him in the ergo starting at weeks. I did not get my ring sling until 2 weeks ago but it would be very easy to use that from infant to toodler.
As for nursing while wearing LO at home so you can be able to help your other child... it is not that simple. It takes a lot of practice to wear and nurse at the same time if you are trying to move around and do something else. So just keep that in mind.
