We had an audio monitor for DS, which was very static-y & hardly ever used. We'd like to try a video monitor this time around, but don't want to spend a fortune.
Any recommendations?
TIA!

I have a hand me down Summer Infant one with a large screen and the static is annoying, but in general I love the video monitor. I pooh poohed them and registered for audio only but when a friend offered me this one and we tried it I knew it was the way to go. I plan to get a newer one when there's a good price on amazon. The motorola one looks nice and has good reviews.

We bought a regular (non-video) monitor that was digital (i.e. no radio waves). It was a bit pricey (I think $120ish) but there's no static at all and we love it. If you only want to get rid of static, you might want to look into this.

We like it - no complaints! My cousin had an older model. Other than her, I have never seen anyone recommend it, not sure why? We both love it! It has lots of cool features. You can find it on amazon too for cheaper, depending on sales.

We have this one and I love it. I can see her breathing on it It sometimes gets static but Kellen is up on the 2nd floor so pretty far away from our room. But nothing horrible.

I have this one. It was great at first, but now the battery only lasts about 5 mins so I can only use it at night, while it's on the base. I'm super pissed.
We used an Anele Care movement monitor and LOVED it. I used the deluxe version ($149 I think) and I wouldn't ever use anything else. It told us on our handset that he was still breathing and it had over 1,000 sqft distance with absolutely no interference. Personally I never felt any safer with a video as I wouldn't be able to tell he was still breathing from using it.
We have the Safety 1st Color Video Monitor. It's really great, but the only complaint I have is the battery life sucks horribly. I think if I had to do over again I would get the Summer Infant.

I'm about to order the Motorola one.
Oh no, that stinks! We only have it off the base in the evenings for about 2hrs or less. Still holds the charge - but will die out if its much longer.

I have the motorola and love it! Great battery life and pretty good picture/sound quality. I have not had any problems with it at all.
