Bum Genius Question

II was looking up info @bumgenius.com to figure out what material the inserts are made of... found out it was microfiber... but it brought up another question when I saw these under their products.

My question is, it says:

NOT INTENDED FOR USE AS A DIAPER INSERT!!

This product contains fleece and will cause your pocket diapers to leak.

But isn't a doubler's purpose to double the absorbancy???

That is rather confusing. It just means don't stuff it into a pocket, I think it's meant to be used with a prefold or with the Flip system. There's a fleece layer that pulls moisture away from the bum. When you use a pocket diaper, there's already a stay-dry layer - the microsuede inner of the pocket. I guess two layers of stay dry material would make it harder for the moisture to get to the absorbent part.

I think they should have used a different name other than "doubler". From what they described on the website it sounds more like a thick liner.

We just got our first fluffy mail a few days ago with 2 BG and 2 Flip covers.  So I was looking up fabric types and such b/c I was try to explain to DH that we can't just use the inserts for the BG inside the flips, at least not without something else between it and baby's skin.
