Breastfeeding

Hoping it is just a strike

I am sad.  My 9 month old daughter has refused to nurse the last couple of days.  I so wanted to nurse her for at least a year.  Any advice?  I am not ready to be done nursing....

In the meantime I will be hooked up to the pump...

  • I have no personal experience with this, but you could try these things:

Does LO have a cold? Is he teething? Those things can make nursing uncomfortable? Have you tried different positions?

  • Sometimes they just quit on their own.  Also maybe it is the environment you are nursing in.  If they are interested in other things they may not want to take time to nurse.  Find a quiet place.  Also teething can put a damper on things.  If she is in pain she may not want to.  Just keep pumping until you are sure she is done.  Keep trying.
