Thought i'd post here since the LO's are older. Just wondering if anyone has had a tummy tuck and can give me info on recovery, etc. Mine is scheduled for 2/27.
After two back to back high risk pregnancies and consulting with a surgeon their really is no other way to get rid of this constantly looking 6 months pregnant abdomen.
PS. Not looking for flames just helpful info because i'm scared to death.

Re: tummy tuck?
Because..otherwise it's another summer of not being able to get into a bathing suit, and having someone ask me once a week when i'm due.
Their will never be a good time with the girls medical issues, i'm 25, we aren't having any more children and I want to pick out clothes because they are cute, not because they don't draw attention to my huge stomach.
Not to be a downer, but I read an article that said it is one of the most painful and prolonged recoveries of any abdominal surgery. I've had 2 c/s and an appendectomy in the past 5 years and they were rough, but if you have a good support system it will really help. Don't push yourself too hard, take your time, and try to rest as much as possible.
We are planning to have another baby soon. I will have to have a repeat c/s and my OB will do a "mini tuck" since it will be my last baby. She sews the muscles up tighter and gets rid of a little of the extra skin. I'm hoping this will really help, but I haven't ruled out getting a full tummy tuck once the kids are older. I'm back down to my pre-preg weight and I still have a pretty considerable ponch. Short of working out 8 hours a day (we all have that kind of spare time don't we?) surgery is the only way that I will ever feel better about my body, so I totally understand where you are coming from! Good luck and once you've had it done come back and let us know if it was all worth it!
I've read that it's pretty painful too. I know they give celebrex to help with pain/inflammation along with narcotic pain meds. They did say they've never had someone say recovery was so bad that they would never do it again or recommend a friend to do it.
My surgeon has been practicing since 1991, I believe and he's done the girls in the offices tummy tuck's as well.
I'm going to post pictures on the blog (probably not here lol since it's not my board and not a lot of people chimed in so just check there).
I'm still super scared but can't wait to wear clothes without hating how they look on me.
I have not had one, but I did take care of my cousin after she had hers done. She had lipo from just under her breast to her knees and a tummy tuck. She had to spend the first 24 hours with a nurse at a private facility (in her case the nurses house was licensed). When I picked her up from the surgeon's office she was clearly well medicated - which was a good thing. She had rented a chair (per doctors advise) that helped her from a standing position to an almost flat position. She lived in the chair for 2+ weeks and said it was awesome!
Ideally you'll want to stay medicated with your pain pills. It's easier to keep your body out of pain than get it out of pain.
After the 2 weeks she said she felt very bruised, but not in pain. She also said she'd do it again even with the pain and $$.
Good luck and enjoy your new body!!
