Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Wohoo! We are paci free!

I posted about Christmas I was going to take it away gradually! It worked.

I just started not clipping it to her during daytime. Did that right away. She didn't even care.

I only gave it to her at nap if she was super fussy/nothing else would work. Took about a month to give that up entirely, cutting out one nap at a time.

Then last week I quit clipping it to her at night. I also stopped giving it to her in the carseat. Cared in the carseat for a day or two. Didn't care at night at all. (She used it to put herself back to sleep, but must've found some other method).

We only had two pacis, both of which were hid in my bag for emergencies. I lost one last week somewhere out and about. The other's clip is looking slimy and gross...so I just tossed it last night instead of washing it. Devil

It did take a long time but I was okay with it. Cut down on the screaming tantrums and stress. She's also on the younger side (7 months) so I didn't feel the need to push it!

Yay! One less thing to stress about/worry about/find.

However, she now seems to lover her blanket. Oh well..can't win them all...lol.

  • Congrats!! We had gotten DS down to just taking it at bedtime and naps, but no re-binking, but then he got sick! :( However, in this past week he has learned to re-bink, so we will see where that takes us... What a relief for you!!

  • Yay!  I keep thinking we should try to eliminate it but then think "Eh, i can do it later like my sister did and it wasn't so hard".  I hope that I'm right and that it won't be that hard to break the habit.
