Update after 6 nights of stims

I had my monitoring appt after 6 nights of stims and am still in shock. I was a little nervous that my low dose of stims wouldnt be enough but I was definitely wrong.(I should have known I could trust my doctor) Even with the low dose, I have more than 20 follicles, at least 15-20 that are measuring in the teens and expected to be fully mature in the next few days.  

 I was on 200iu of follistim and 75iu of Menopur for the first 4 nights and then my dose was decreased to 150iu. I am also on Ganirelix. The doctor seems to be concerned slightly about OHSS with me and talked about me decreasing my dose to 100iu of Folllistim tonight and triggering with Lupron instead of HCG to prevent OHSS. My bloodwork came back lower than he thought so Im going back in the morning to have additional monitoring but I am still nervous about OHSS.  Looks like the retrieval will be Monday or Tuesday depending on how tomorrow goes.  

 Will triggering with Lupron release all the eggs? I know it will help prevent OHSS which is important. Has anyone ever done this? I usually hear about people getting 10-15 eggs....20 or more scares me a little.

    I had 36 eggs my first IVF and no OHSS.  We lost a lot (long story) and retrieved 10 my second IVF (last week) - bad case of OHSS that required fluid aspiration.

    Eat as much salt and protein as you can, and drink gatorade, coconut water or ensure - more than you think you need.  It's really important in prevention and recovery.

    My Dr is putting me on the Lupron protocol as well to prevent OHSS. Good luck to you!! PCOS? My Dr mentioned getting 20 max. She doesn't want to see too much more than that.


    04/07/11- PCOS Diagnosis w/GYN. Put on Metformin (1500 mgs)
    04/25/11- 1st consultation with RE (Confirmed PCOS & Anovulation)
    05/09/11-HSG-All clear! 05/13/11-SA-Normal. Found out on 2/14/12, low Morph (1%).
    06/17/11-10 days of Clomid (100, 150) No response.
    07/10/11-03/20/12- 5 Injectable (Follistim) IUI cycles; 4 BFN, 1 C/P. (stims ranged from 11 days to 25 days)
    05/28/12-Diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. 75 mcg Synthroid.

    IVF with ICSI in June/July 2013 = BFP!. Beta # 1 = 123. Beta # 2 = 252. Due March 25th. Baby boy arrived March 27, 2013!

    FET #1 - 10/4/14 = BFP!! Beta #1 = 179. Beta # 2 = 499. Due June 22nd.

    Me: 37 DH: 40 TTC since 9/09
    #1 BFP 1/10/11; missed m/c discovered 7w5d
    IF Dx: Endo, hetero MTHFR mutation, poor morphology
    #1 IUI: 1/18/12 = BFN
    #1 IVF/ICSI 4/2/12 = 2 x 7-cell and 1 x 5-cell transferred (3dt) = BFP!!
    H was born at 41w2d on 12/29/12 - be still my heart!
    #2 IVF/ICSI 1/19/14 = 2 x 8 cells transferred (3dt) = BFP!! EDD 10/09/14
    M&W born at 37 weeks on 9/18/14 - I am the momma of 3 boys!!!

    FET#4 12/11/2015 - BFN - 4 blasts remaining
    FET#5 2/18/16 - BFP!!!  Beta1-3, 126, 250, 745!!

    Thanks! Rachey, they dont know if I have PCOS. Some say yes, some say no. I dont have any symptoms except anovulation and everything else (bloodwork, ultrasounds, weight, etc) is normal. The doctor is going under the presumption that my ovaries would respond like they do with PCOS and Im glad he did. I cant imagine being on a higher dose.

    I have no experience with OHSS, but just wanted to say good luck!
    2/11 Diagnosis: DOR-AMH .62, LPD and MFI-4% Morph
    IVF #1-July 2011 7/9/11-Started Stims
    7/20/11-ER:No eggs in 4/5 follicles. Left the 5th follie intact and converted to an IUI
    8/3/11-Beta #1=BFN,
    Nov, 2011 BFP #1=m/c at 7 wks 3 days
    11/11-AMH .47, IVF #2 March 2012...or not!! Surprise BFP on 2/19. Beta #1=161. Beta #2 305 Our little miracle girl is on her way! Due Oct 29, 2012
