DD is on Neocate after allergy issues (unresolved by elimination diet) while breastfeeding and is doing great on that, but we can't shake the feeling that allergies are causing her chronic congestion (which has led to two separate rounds of antibiotics) and the problems we've been having with diaper rash, coincidentally after starting solids.
Both her pediatrician and GI doc say that allergy testing before a year can give incorrect results. And, even if we did find that she has environmental allergies, they recommend stalling before putting her on an actual daily allergy med.
I agree with them about the meds, but it's frustrating not knowing if something easily removable from her life would help things. Should we push for testing sooner or just ride out these next couple months and [sigh] be patient?
