slow burn vs poor response?

slow burn vs poor response?

-->

1st monitoring appt was this am... not really sure how i feel about results.

am on day 7 of stims (antagonist/EPP) and had 2 @ 10 and a few smaller and a few small on the other side...   feel discouraged that i only have 2 measurable follies.

am glad that i didnt have anything really big at this point (which has always happened to me and then i have smaller ones that never have time before retrieval to catch up)

guess i have no choice but to keep waiting...

anyone have any experience with this type of protocol?

Re: slow burn vs poor response?

  • My last cycle was EPP. I stimmed for 12 days. By the end, I had three follies measuring over 16mm. At ER, we got 6 mature eggs. During the whole monitoring process, I kept waiting to be canceled because it was taking so long for me to respond. Hang in there!

  • This cycle was EPP and I was very slow to respond.  Like AmCheri, I stimmed for 12 days and a couple of the doctors at my clinic voiced their ?concern? about continuing (I have a designated RE but cycle monitoring is rotational).  In the end though I had four follies, three of which were mature.  The odd thing was that for the longest time there was very slow growth and then all of a sudden between stim day twelve and trigger day my follies grew 4-5mm each!

  • Thanks, I'm glad I'm not the only one!  6 mature would be really great :)

    I was actually nervous I would be cancelled today, but I was told I have 2 measuring @ 10 and 7 others under 10. E2 was was 378. I asked if I should be concerned and the nurse said it is just too early and there are still 7 smaller follicles. hoping to have more promising results Monday!

  • its so crazy how different protocols/cycles can have such a different outcome!

    i this is my 3rd attempt, i have always had my lead follicles get too big too fast (i only stimmed 9 days last time!!) and we were forced to go to retrieval before the smaller ones could catch up. so while I am glad that there weren't any drastically larger ones, I am still nervous about how many of the 7 under 10 will grow at all-

    this process is so stressful and worrying about cancellation makes it such a long, hard cycle! since they aren't talking cancellation, I am not going to think it either-
