EXTREMELY upset.First Ultrasound

My babys father and I arent really talking right now, he called me to say happy valentines day, but now he has no min. on his cell and i havent heard from him since. My first ultrasound appointment is on the 28th. And i really want him to be there, im so upset and i just cry alot wishing we could both be going through this....And i really dont kno if he's going to go with me, i may end up going alone. I really dont want to have to choose from my mom or my friends to come with me.

 

i guess i just need some comforting advice.

I understand that you are upset. However, my FI didn't go to a single U/S with our last baby (we lost the baby at 7 weeks). With DD her BD didn't go with me to my first U/S. Honestly, I know you wish he was there. However, it's not the end of the world. Most guys only go to the 20 week anatomy scan.

SD went to my second one, my first showed an empty sac. But, by my first OB appt we had broken up. He hasn't been to any appts or ultrasounds since 6w. Honestly, I'm glad. It would be so awkward to have him there. DDs father didnt go to an appt, an ultrasound, or even show at delivery. I still had this hope of happy ever after. But, it wasn't the end of the world. I was so busy biding with DD, that I didn't have a chance to regret him not being there. He did later, though. It'll be fine. He's the one missing out, not you.

I understand you are upset.  Really it isnt the end of the world.  He may come around, or he may not.

FWIW, my STBX didnt go to a single appointment with me.  Should have tipped me off to his douchery then but it didnt!

Ditto the other girls.  I didn't separate until my girls were 1.5 and 3.5 but due to STBXH's schedule as a surgeon he did not attend a single appointment with me.  I went by myself.  For the big u/s at 20 weeks with DD1 I invited my mom and sister to come along.

My ex did come to mine last week, but we don't talk very much or get along a lot of the time and it just ended up being really awkward. I actually wished I was there alone. So maybe it would be better for you if he didn't go?
