Finally moving forward with the buy-out

Currently I own property with my parents. It is a house with an in-law apartment.  Right now DH, Evie and I live in what is essentially an efficiency apartment over the garage.  As of today we have submitted the paperwork to buy out my parents. 

It is a great piece of property, 4 acres in northern Baltimore County, that backs up  park land.  However, the house was built in 1953 and needs a lot of work.  I am excited and sick to my stomach all at the same time.

That is exciting!! So do your parents currently live in the main part of the house or the in-law apartment? Where will they live after the buy-out?

The main part of the house is a 2 bedroom rancher.  My parents and my nephew (who my parents have raised since an infant) live on that side.  They'll be moving out later this year, probably late-spring/early summer.  My guess is they'll head back to Carroll County, since my mom works in Hampstead, but nothing concrete yet.

Exciting news! Remember the house can be fixed up over time, no need to stress out now.

Sounds like an awesome piece of property and that's the hardest to find / most expensive these days!  I think this sounds like an awesome opportunity!
