This may be a really dumb question but is there anything more to an "internal" than checking cervix length?

yes, he goes to every appointment.

No, mine didn't. I really wanted him at the BIG appointments, like the first heartbeat, and the u/s's. I didn't feel a need for him to be at all the others, unless he specifically had the day off.

No, he doesn't go to any of my appointments since they are literally 5 minutes and I pee in a cup and get my blood pressure checked.  When I had an internal last week, it took one minute and didn't tell me much so I am glad DH didn't show up to hear no news.

Nope, and he didn't with DD either. He went to a couple appts last time to hear the HB and this time the only one he has gone to is the 20wk u/s. Otherwise he works when I have my appts and I don't feel he needs to waste vacation time for 5 min appts.

nope, it was the second appt he missed (he couldnt get out of work for the first one).  He chose not to come to the internal appt because he feels very uncomfrotable sitting there while some man has his hands up my crotch. It seems kinda silly to me since ill be getting internals when im in labor at the hospital, not to mention when the dr has his face in my vagina while i deliver...but i also understand where DH is coming from. He plans to come to my next appt but wait in the waiting room.

I don't see any point in my DH taking off work for a routine appointment that may include and internal or not, waste of his time I think.
