Woke up to stabbing pain in uterus

I just woke up to a sharp stabbing pain on the right side of my uterus. It was sort of throbbing and about 8 - 10 seconds apart. Has anyone had anything like this? Could it still be my uterus contracting (I'm 7 weeks pp)?

    Yikes. I vote if you use the word "stabbing" to describe a sensation and it doesn't go away in a few minutes or comes back that you should probably call and ask your doctor's office. 

    I agree. I'm no doctor, but that doesn't sound right to me.

    I was thinking the same thing. Luckily it hasn't come back. If it does then I will definitely call. Thanks for the replies :)

    I'm 4 weeks PP, and I've had the same problem this week, in the same spot. I noticed it while my son was nursing, so I chalked it up to that.
