ladies I have to do a paper for school and I really want to do it on Preemies. I just dont know a like specific topic i guess. can any of you help me out?
My family was involved in an ethics conference here in my home state after DD was born. The hospitals in my area all have 24 week viablility policies - anything before that is the doctors discretion as to wether or not any life saving treatment will be given - only one hospital routinely does allow the parents any input and will try and save the really little ones like my DD - who at 22 weeks wouldnt have been saved at any other hospital. The discussion was very interesting - the topic was "the ethics of resusictation of infants less than 24 weeks gestaion: who should decide" - we made a point that if our daughter was born full-term with any of the abnormalities, syndromes, health issues or diseases that are common in micro-preemies we would not have been given any choices - she was our baby at 22 weeks, 36 weeks or 42 weeks - no matter how she was born, or what her condition was. I found the discussion very important. Parents should be allowed to choose what happens to their babies.

Popping by quickly and saw this - we have lots of information on our blog. Maybe look through it and decide then feel free to ask more specific questions. PTSD is a good one - https://preemiemomblog.blogspot.com/
Re: Research paper on preemies
My aunt & I were just discussing my thesis and I am considering doing it on PTSD in parents of infants born prematurely.
Or, you could do common conditions associated with prematurity. Or, a specific one like BPD or ROP.
Good luck!
