Love Our New Daycare

I went to pick up my ds and the director called me over and asked, "what do you give your son for lunch?" I explained to her what I usually send, and she said, If you want, we can go purchase your son tyson chicken and serve him a veggie and fruit for lunch. I was so taken aback at her gracious offer to make special arrangements for my ds that I cried. No other daycare EVER offered to modify their menu to ensure that my son has a safe lunch. I told her that I was beyond grateful, and she took me back to the kitchen and showed me each can of veggie and fruit, so I could look at the ingredients. I was beyond words. She said, I will personally make sure that Micah gets a safe lunch, and that sent me into the ugly cry and hug. Knowing that someone loves and cares for your child when you have to work is priceless.

That's fantastic!  When DS was in a home daycare, she catered to his dietary needs and it was wonderful!  Now that he's in K, I wish his school could do that too, but I don't mind making his lunch to bring with.
