I'm currently in Texas and I'll be moving to Seattle on Feb. 29th and I'll be 35 weeks. I'll be living in 98168 area code near Military Rd South and Des Moines Memorial Drive. I'm not familiar with the area at all and I'm not quite sure where anything is.... Yea I'm going into this blind! I have made appointments with Seattle OB GYN Group on Madison St. with Dr. McKeever. I was wondering if anybody has heard anything about her, or if there are any doctors that are closer? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just want to be able to go to the doctor shortly after I get off the airplane!
Re: Moving to Sea. in 2 wks
Welcome! I'm pretty new to Seattle myself (we moved here in late fall), so I am not much help on the area (we live in Lower Queen Anne).
I do see Dr. McKeever though! I haven't had my first OB appointment yet - I'm 7 weeks today and it's scheduled for next Friday. But I have seen her for GYN, and I do like her.

Congrats on the move! I am not a patient of Dr. McKeever but she was on-call for most of my labor with my first child and she is really, really nice. I see one of her associates, also at Seattle OBGYN, and I drive there from Tacoma, which is a good 40 miles away. I like the practice -- and Swedish -- that much. Every doctor I have dealt with there -- most of them, over nearly five years -- has been just wonderful. I have a friend who lives in the area you are describing and getting from where you will be to Swedish wouldn't be bad at all. That practice sees patients from all over the region.
Welcome to the PNW!
I hope everything goes smoothly for you.
Awesome, thank you guys! I'm from an hour west of Fort Worth; it's a tiny town called Mineral Wells. Man I'm going to miss my doctor and my nurse! They are so sweet and personable it's going to be hard to switch doctors. I wish I could bring them with me! I record doctors visits for my fiance and I have my OB dancing on tape and they always make sure to steal my cell phone and tell my fiance hi and ask if he has any questions and they tell him what to gripe at me about haha.
I was trying to find a doctor in the middle for Chris and I. He leaves on NW 58th street which is considered Bellvue, or Ballard, or something? Ha I have no clue! I was just entering all the OB's in google maps trying to find a happy medium.
Another reason why I'm going to miss my nurse is she does a sonogram everytime you walk through the door and she does 3D sono's for free. She told me, "I'm going to sonogram the crap out of you just because I can. I have the technology, I'm not the doctor, and I do what I want! It's awesome to see babies grow!" She's on the board of directors at the hospital but she's just very personable, always so helpful, and she makes sure you get to see your baby grow not only in size but in personality. When we were trying to find out whether I was having a boy or girl she did the sonogram for about 20 minutes until he turned around so she could tell for sure.
I just know going to the ''city'' I'm not going to see my doc/nurse around town and they aren't going to stop me and ask how me/baby are doing and they remember what all is going on without a chart even though they have so many patients... I guess it's just one of the only things I'll miss from living in a small town.
Welcome to Seattle. My inlaws are from Midland Texas and love visiting us. They are always amazed by the trees and water. I hope you will like it here. I am in West Seattle if you need a little guidance/friendship.
I don't know anything about Dr. McKeever. I am too new to this world to know much of anything.
