What's up to everybody in the D! I'm a newbie here - last time I was here I was on The Knot and now hubby and I have been TTC for over a year. Had an unsuccessful IUI cycle and in the process of switching docs. Before that I had a hysteroscopy/lap and an HSG - possibly 1 blocked tube, and I had uterine polyps and a little endo. I've consulted with (and heard great things about) Dr. Mersol-Barg but would appreciate good feedback on any of our other local RE's - Gary Jones with MCFC, or Wayne State Univ. Phys. Group in particular. Hope to hear back from you all soon!
TTC Since December 2010
Pet parent to an 8.5-month-old Stafford - lots of energy!
Dx: mild endo, uterine polyps
Hysteroscopy/Lap done in August 2011
HSG done Sept. 2011 - possible right blocked tube
*Lots of uncertainty which is why I'm seeking out a new RE*

March 2012 - 2 B2B IUI's + prog. = BFN
Took a break - went on vacation

I truly think it depends on your diagnosis. Have you checked out the SART website for information about clinics' success with your particular situation? www.sart.org The 2010 data was just released a couple weeks ago.
We started out at RMA of Mi with Dr. Miller. I would see Dr. Wolfe a few times throughout the course of our time there too, but my main doctor was Miller. We really, really liked him. We did multiple rounds of IUI there...starting on clomid then moving to injections...and nothing worked. Then we switched to CFC to Dr. Jones. Did several more rounds of IUI there...all different combos of injections. Nothing worked. We had a consultation with IVF of Mi with Dr. Ashraf. Basically we knew that we needed to move onto IVF, and were looking for the best fit for us (Dr. Jones had pretty much said to me, "We'll do IVF but your chances of it working are slim to none".) I got the same feeling from Dr. Ashraf. In looking at all 3 clinics' SART data, for my diagnosis, their success rates were close to, if not actually EQUAL to, zero. So we ended up doing IVF out at the Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine which is a whole separate post in itself.
I will say though that a friend of mine got pregnant through IUI w/Jones, and I know two friends who have gotten pregnant with Ashraf/Abuzeid at IVF Mi. While I don't know anyone personally who has gotten pregnant at RMA, I have read of several people on these boards having success. Neighbors of ours had success with their first IUI with Dr. Mersol-Barg. Again, I really think it depends on your diagnosis.
Good luck!!

Hi UMichGirl,
As of now one of my tubes is blocked.......tried one IUI so far with no success and my current RE......nice person but just didn't seem "there", physically or mentally. I mean she would ask ME what we're doing, when my chart is right in front of her. Ugh......DH's s/a within normal range, besides morph on the low side. Right now IVF is not an option for us, but we will see. Can I ask what the hours are at MCFC, I forgot to ask when I called......I've seen you and many others post good things about MCFC, and it's a lot closer to where I live, so I'm going to check them out.
Hi Summer - can you tell me what their monitoring hours are? Was thinking of them as well. Thanks!
I'm not positive but I think they opened at 7:00 am for monitoring.
The office I went to was in Clinton Township and their monitoring began at 7:30am. I'd always get there at like 7:10/7:15 to try and be the first one in line when they opened the doors!

I just hopped over to this board to check it out, and found this post.
We are also will Dr. Miller at RMA in Troy.
I had a consult meeting with a Dr. at Midwest Michigan IVF in Saginaw (which also has an office in Detroit area) and it wasn't a right fit for us. We were referred there by my Ob, but they were very pushy on the IVF.
I'm going through my first cycle with Dr. Miller, but I would def. recommend them!
