help me pick a bday party date

ok this is a totally stupid poll but i've literally been going back and forth for weeks trying to pick a date. i know i shouldn't be planning around other people but....

Option 1 -- My dad is out of state and this date is less ideal for him and also for our best friends who are also planning to drive in from out of state (but all could attend if i chose this weekend), slightly less ideal for me b/c i have a large work event the week leading up to this weekend = less time to clean/etc.

Option 2 --  better weekend for me to plan/execute, but its also DH's birthday (not that he cares), Graduation Weekend (CRAZY traffic/crowds), and its Mother's Day weekend

Opt 2 makes sense cause its best for ME, but the graduation/mother's day weekend thing is giving me anxiety. anyway... poll below cause i can't decide Smile

Re: help me pick a bday party date

  • Is the party Saturday or Sunday?  That would make a difference for me since lots of folks spend Sunday with their mamas.

    Saturday!

  • I don't think the traffic thing really matters--it's not like you're going to be hitting a bunch of spots around town. People come to your house and just stay a couple of hours, you know? I don't know where y'all live, but I'm guessing it's not in the thick of campus, right?
    Dear Bump: You suck.

yea i keep trying to convince myself of that but it's still stressing me out and i can't particularly pinpoint why. but college station is small and not exaggerating... most of us avoid leaving the house graduation weekends. Smile i guess its also the traffic coming in/out of town since most family is driving in... ??

    Saturday!

I've had J's b-day party Mother's Day weekend (on Sat) the past 2 years.  No one has seemed to mind, not that I know of anyway.

  • My parents live in BCS and I avoid graduation weekend like the plague. I think that unless you are from a small town like that then you have no idea how absolutely nutso it can be. So, my vote is for the weekend other than graduation. Plus, you wouldn't be able to find a hotel room for anyone coming in town if you needed it.
