So my DD father and I got pregnant the first time we had sex. We were together the whole time I was pregnant and until today. He's been asking for a DNA test because he wants to be sure. Which is understandable we had sex once and then I tell him were having a baby. Okay I've told him since the day he asked me for it that it was fine I really have no doubt that she's not his. Well she has his features her eyes,eyebrows,booty chin(lol), her nose, everything except her skin color and her hair for now. He's black and I'm puerto rican. He's like a light brown color and im like a light caramel. So he tells me that just because she looks like him doesn't mean she's really his. That kids look like people they've been around for a while and that since while I was pregnant I always hated him and didn't like him that could be the reason why she looks like him.

So my question is, is that even possible? lol could a baby look like someone that's been around and not really be their child? I'm just asking because I've never heard of that. I really don't have and doubts that she's his baby. He was the only person I had sex with in 2011. She's going to be 3 months on the 22nd. Like I said I am going to give him the DNA test because I understand why he might feel like that. I just think that it's ridiculous for him to say just because she looks like him doesn't mean she's his for real. TIA

No.  Babies don't look like the people they are physically near.  They can resemble either or both of their biological parents.  They can resemble a genetic ancestor.  but mere proximity isn't enough to affect a child's appearance.

Babies will pick up mannerisms from people they are around, and this can make them appear even more like Mom or Dad or grandparents. But, ultimately, looks are about genetics. Genetics are weird. I don't look like either of my parents. My dad has wavey hair, my mom curly...mine is straight. My dad's eyes are green, my mom's are grey, and mine are blue. I have long legs and a short body. I'm busty. My mom has a long torso and is stick straight. My dad is perfectly proportioned. It gets even crazier, my dad's blood type is A-, my mom's is B+ and mine is O+. My sister looks just like my mom, and it's obvious she and I are related. I look like a cross between my maternal and paternal aunts.

DD looks a lot like her father, but since she's been around me her whole life, her actions, mannerisms and things she says make ppl go, "Have you met Sarah's daughter?! OMG, she looks like a mini-Sarah! It's crazy!"

PS, mine just told me that because I won't give Alien his last name, I slept around and don't know who the father is. And, then flipped out and accused me of trying to make him pay for it when I said, "Fine! Let's do a DNA test, but we have to wait for the court to order it. They'll pay for it." Men...they don't always think logically...or intelligently...and they say stuff to hurt.

No, you don't just look like people because you spend time with them.

That said, DS looks a tiny bit like me, but mostly like my sister. Nothing like STBXH at all. He has light hair and blue eyes- like my sister. STBXH and I have dark hair and eyes.  My dad suggests I wasn't faithful, but that's crap, it's just recessive genes.

What matters is whose sperm met your egg. If you are telling the truth that he is the only person that you slept with, then I think it would be safe to assume the baby is his.

I can't say I blame him for wanting a paternity test, but if those are his reasons, they are quite ridiculous.
