So, there's this neat little village/farm about 45 minutes from us with a B&B and a fancy restaurant. This weekend they're having a folk art show, so DH and I decided that for Valentine's Day, we'd spend a night this Friday night and enjoy the show on Saturday. We get afternoon tea, gourmet breakfast, and have reservations for dinner at the restaurant on Friday night at 7. DS is coming with us since children are welcome at the inn. The inn has arranged a sitter for us on Friday night while we eat dinner. She is one of their regular sitters and has experience, and we will get to meet her for 15 minutes before we head to dinner. The restaurant is also only about 20 feet from the inn and she'll be watching him in our room. I'm a little nervous, but DH and I really need this time. We're also pretty excited to get some film of DS checking out the farm animals on Saturday and seeing the art.
A few things though: What should I ask/say for the first time with a non-family sitter (it is unlikely she will need to feed or change him in the short time we'll be gone and we should be back before DS's 8:30-9 bedtime)? How should we plan to sleep (we bedshare at home and will have a king bed at the inn)? TIA!
