I just bought DD a second pair of headphones. I picked up a pair of pink Sony headphones from Best Buy (which are wonderful) after struggling with a pair of Maxell children's headphones from Toys 'R Us. They were awful; they were supposed to adjust the volume to a lower setting (regardless of the volume reading on the appliance it was plugged into) to protect little ones' ears. BUT, when we plugged them into anything (DD's Mobigo or Innotab or even the computer speakers or iPad) she could hardly hear anything.
I got them at Target. Not sure the brand but they're turquoise blue with white wires. Got them in the regular music section but they were labeled as children's sized.
What I love about them is that they have a volume slider on the cord that has a lock on it so you can check the head phones, set the volume and then lock it down so they're not fiddling with things and blowing out their ear drums.
Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
Re: headphones for a LO?
We have these and both the kids tolerate them very well. They are comfy and have a separate volume control on the wire. https://www.amazon.com/Kidz-Gear-Wired-Headphones-Kids/dp/B0007NWL70/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1329248867&sr=8-1
