Valentine's Day Fail

Please tell me I'm not the only mom who didn't send their kid to school with valentines today. DD just started a new daycare about a month ago. I didn't know holiday protocol so I had DH ask one of the teachers when he picked her up last night. According to him, she said they don't do valentines in her class because she's too young. I show up today and I see all kinds of goodie bags and valentines for the kids in her class. I told the director what happened and she said one of the other parents brought extra valentines and they can be from DD. Now I feel like "that mom."

I'm not sure if I count or not but DD went with nothing this morning. She has 3 little boys in her class....I was talking to one of the other mom's about the girl to boy ratio last week and she commented "Laci will be lucky at Valentine's"...so I got all paranoid that I needed to send something with Laci...but I didn't send anything at all. I intended to buy them books or something but did nothing. I'll be embarrassed if she comes home with something but in my defense- her class isn't having a party- she's only 16 weeks old.

Don't beat yourself up over it. I wouldn't even think to send valentines to day care with a kid that young.
