Marriage in Washington State!!!

WOOHOO!!! I just sat here in tears watching our governor give a passionate speech as she choked back some emotion of her own. She talked about how her daughters have been a great motivating factor to bring equality to all citizens of our state. She spoke of the thousands of calls and emails and letters she has received over the past several weeks expressing thanks and appreciation. The bill has been signed! Now we must all hope for equality again as we face a likely referendum in November but this is something to be celebrated!!!

And thanks Leap for spreading your marriage equality luck to this state which is soon to be your home!

Leap and her DP are moving to Vancouver. They'll be in the PDX area. (Portland-Vancouver area, for the non-natives). 

Re- signing into law - is the wait because the opposite side wants to be mean... Yea Washington!

Just hope we can do celebrations on Mother's Day... (that's when it becomes law unless it is being tested on the ballot.)

Thanks for the clarification on Leap's move destination. I assumed as much as I know others who live in Vancouver and work/spend time in Portland.

It's actually not scheduled to go into effect until June 7th, but it's assumed that opponents will get the required number of signatures to be a ballot referendum, which would postpone enactment until after a vote.
