A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I heard it years ago for a girl. I have never heard it as a surname or used as a boy's name. It's so interesting that everyone associates it as a boys name, I can see that though.
I love the Broadway actress Sutton Foster, so this has been a guilty pleasure name of mine for years. Love it.
(And PS, I'm not generally a fan of boy names for girls, though my daughter's name and this reply may make it appear otherwise. I just think of Sutton as a girl name- never met or even heard of a male Sutton.)

All this exactly. I associate it with the actress Sutton Foster and I've only ever heard it for a girl. I think of it as a girl's name.
Thanks girls. I knew I could count on you for honest opinions.
Full disclosure, my girl is over 2 years old now and I did name her Sutton. I love her name even more now than I did when she was born.We knew going into it that it wasn't for everyone. You have to be open to that when you pick an unusual name.

I 100% agree.
This. LOL
No for two reasons:
1. It's not a girl's first name.
2. I babysat for a family whose surname was Sutton, and I have bad macaroni and cheese covered memories from those kids.

Not a fan, sorry.
