Here's the issue - My wonderful sleeper of a child does.not.sleep anymore. She might fall asleep okay (around 8:30pm) but then wakes up constantly throughout the night. I've let her cry, I've laid with her - nothing gets her to STTN. Some nights she is only getting 4-5 hours of sleep. She naps fine at daycare (usually 1.5 hours)
Here's the other
issues - she's PTing, and doing a really good job at it. I've noticed
that sometimes when she wakes at night she is yelling "potty." As soon
as I ask if she needs to go potty, she stops crying (she wears a diaper
at night). I of course take her to the bathroom and she always goes.
So is she waking up each time she has to pee? And if so, does that
eventually go away?
And the last issue - because she was refusing to sleep I thought maybe it was tied to her no longer wanting to be confined in a crib. The last two nights I've laid her crib mattress on the floor. She's gone to bed easy, but then each time she rolls off the mattress she wakes up. I'll let her cry for a bit to see if she will put herself back to bed but she won't.
So what do I do? I'm not getting any sleep and I know DD needs more sleep than she is getting. Any words of wisdom?
TIA!
Re: XP: More STTN troubles
Do you have a convertible crib, by any chance? We converted the twins' cribs to toddler beds around Christmas, and it's really helped their sleeping (knock on wood!). If your crib converts, you can get a rail to keep her from falling out of bed. For us, we have the open sides pushed up against an ottoman (the rail we got was too big and didn't allow for any more freedom than a crib). I think it's really calmed them to know they can get out of bed if they need to (not that they do, though-- they usually call for us and wait for us to come get them or say it's ok before they get out).
Even if you don't have a crib that converts (and don't want to spring for a toddler bed right now), it's probably worth trying the crib mattress on the floor a few more nights. It seemed for LM and Pnut that they just needed a little time to figure out where the boundaries of their new beds were (we tried mattresses on the floor before we converted their cribs, and they did fall out at the beginning, but then seemed to learn how to not fall out).

Yes, her crib converts. I just didn't want to go through the whole hassle of converting it yet if that wasn't the issue. kwim? So that's why I'm trying the mattress on the floor for a few days first. Hopefully like your LOs she'll figure it out soon.
