Hi ladies, I did a quick into last week and had some updates since them (which I hope some of you can answer!)
So DH went to the uro on Friday and as he described it, there was alot of touching, squeezing and fondling of the boys, lol. DH told him we were seeing a RE on Tuesday (I was able to r/s from Mar 7 to tomorrow!) so the uro wrote him a script for another S/A (probably to be performed at RE clinic) as well as an u/s, which DH has tonight. Uro thinks he may have a varicocele in the left testicle which could be causing the low motility and morphology.
It seems like our choices are to get the surgery and wait 3-6 months to see if his #s improve or go ahead with IVF w/ICSI. I know I'm jumping ahead prior to seeing the RE but I don't want to waste time doing pointless rounds of IUIs esp. since IVF is covered.
2 questions for you guys:
1) My insurance has an IF criterion that we must be TTC 12 months or more if we're under 35...how will they even know (it hasn't been quite that long yet in actuality)? We have a MFI dx so I'm hoping that can override that...
2) Anyone else's DH have varicocele surgery? What were your options and did it help your DH"s #s?
We'll have more answers hopefully tomorrow from he RE as well as the results fro DH"s u/s.
Re: XP: DH's update from urologist
Thanks for sharing your experience; we're leaning towards IVF as well because of those similar stories.
I've had CD3 b/w and a TV u/s done with normal results. I have a HSG on Thursday so hopefully that also looks good and I should be pretty set on my end, as far as basic diagnostic testing goes.
