My girls will be fourteen months apart. I haven't had a chance to talk to my OB yet, so I don't know if she'll even consider VBAC. Did you or do you know anyone who was allowed to attempt/had a successful VBAC around that soon after c-section?
Or...if you or someone you know had a short time between births and you/she was told no to a VBAC, I'd like to hear from you, too. I'm not getting my hopes up.
My OB said that she doesn't consider a minimum, she said she would like for me to wait at least 6 months before getting pregnant again, but it wouldn't matter if it happened sooner. But I have had 2 previous successful & quick vaginal births prior to my 1st c-section (due to breech position), and seem to dilate very easily. My OB said I am a really good VBAC candidate already, so maybe that effects things?
My next LO will be born about 17 months after my c/s.
The NM Midwifery Association requires 18 months, and the hospital I had DS at required at least 18 months as well. I'm sure it depends a lot on the doctor, practice, hospital, and local/states laws. Start doing research now! Good luck :-)
