Hello All,

 

Well my girls are 6 weeks old and are still in the NICU. The past 6 weeks have been insanely hard, Both of the girls have had their ups and downs. Brooke is now 5lbs 7oz and has to be 5lbs 8oz to go home! She is off everything!  Hopefully she will be coming home this week. We roomed in Wednesday and Thursday night so we would know what some nights will be like with her it was great! I am currently breast feeding her. Little Ellie, WOW is all I can say about her she is so strong and I don't know how a 6 week old can handle what she has gone through. This 4lbs 1oz sweet girl has apnea spells,respiratory distress syndrome and reflux. She is also on breathing and feeding tubes. On top of all of that she has juvenile diabetes and is poked and prodded at least 8 if not more times a day. Once she is off everything her blood glucose level has still not regulated so that is our next goal with her. Doctors are hoping she is home by March.

    The heal prick is the worse. She has her toes pricked everyday and it so hard hard to watch. they did say once she is older we can use her fingers which is easier they said.
