Help-LO is flipping out (re: weaning from the bottle)

Sorry, ladies, I don't think I've posted on this board before-have been pretty inactive except I am sometimes on Sept 2012. But, I need your help.

Most of you have probably weaned your LO from the bottle. We went cold turkey today and she is just heartbroken. She threw fits off and on all day. Probably only drank about 12 oz. of milk all day from her sippies (usually she has 24 + oz). She looks at me and cries like I've betrayed her. I guess I didn't realize she was so attached to her bottle. Please tell me that this will pass and quickly? If you've had a similar experience, please share. Thanks

Give it a few days to a week (if she's really stubborn). She will get over it, I promise! And don't worry about her milk consumption too much right now. Just give her yogurt and cheese to make up for it.

Our pedi had us eliminate one bottle at a time. At his one year appt he was taking 3 6oz bottles a day. Now he takes a 4 oz one in the AM and a 6oz right before bedtime. Phasing them out is way easier she said from her experience.

Had you been phasing them out or just cut her off? We started taking one bottle away every month from 9 months to one year and replacing them with sippies. When it came time to get rid of her bottle, it really wasn't a big deal. We have been off them now for two weeks with no regressions, even through the WCM transition.
