who had nephrocalcinosis? help!!

Andrew just got his 3rd kidney stone.  I'm seeing the pattern now...every time he gets sick, then he gets a kidney stone because he didn't drink when he was sick despite our very best efforts.

andrew had the flu a week ago and now he just passed another one.  UGH.  We are doing everything we can to get him to drink and we are eating citrus. The nephrologist is reviewing his chart and calling me monday, but I wanted to post here.

Any other tips?  I don't want him to have to suffer through a kidney stone every.single.time. he gets an infection or the flu or illness.

Oh dear! No tips..but lots of sympathy.. DS has some minor nephrocalc going on, but we are tubefeeding so problems with fluids.  

Hope the nephro has some answers for you soon..

thanks.  We didn't even know until this summer when it got hot and it was his first summer as an older kid without bottles.  FAilsorz.

Poor thing! I don't really have any tips, but am wondering if this will eventually affect us, too. Kayla has had a fair amount of nephrocalcinosis since she was about 3 months old, and while the doctors have told us it will most likely go away on its own (though she's on a diuretic to try and help, too), there's still quite a bit and she's 9 months old. Did Andrew ever have high blood pressure with his neprocalcinosis? That's another thing we're dealing with but the docs aren't sure whether the two are related or not.

I don't think he's ever had high blood pressure :(so sorry
