Mama Cloth help-TMI warning!

I rarely come on the boards anymore, but I do have a question about mama cloth. I purchased one Tululah Bean minky bean to try out mama cloth. I used it once, washed immediately after use (used my regular CD detergent and vinegar), and it came out smelling something awful. I tried spraying it with peroxide, then soak in vinegar and water, but still it stinks! I really want to get into mama cloth, but the stink is really holding me back! Any thoughts?

Re: Mama Cloth help-TMI warning!

  • Hmm, no ideas there. I've never had that problem with my Imse Vimse mama cloth. I can't imagine what else you could have done to care for it any more properly. I'd probably be contacting the company to ask this question. Really odd...

  • yeah...odd. I've had no problem with smell after washing PIMPs...and I'd don't do anything special for them.

  • Never heard of that, but if it's made of minky, I wonder if it doesn't breathe well and if so, why they would select that material. I use Party in my Pants and have never had that problem.

  • Just wanted to throw in an update because I really didn't want to give Talulah Bean a bad rep because I genuinely LOVE the "bean". They are incredibly soft, I didn't have any leaks, and I managed to go swing dancing all night without a problem or discomfort. I doubt I will bother to try another brand because I am definitely sold on this one.

Anyway...turned out that just sprinkling baking soda and allowing that to sit overnight fixed the problem. However, I must give a rave review to Talulah Bean's costumer service. They responded to my email within a few hours and literally emailed me back and forth until the issue was solved. I was seriously impressed!

  • Try soaking it overnight with three or four drops of Tea tree oil.

Edit: Oops just noticed the update! Glad you found something that works :)
