hi girls....every so often i am just so "itchy" down there and it seems to eventually let up...but what can i do to help it? my doc said vagisil is fine..i guess it works a little...any other ideas...thx! gross, sorry!
I get this too, it's almost like my skin is having an allergic reaction to the extra discharge or something, it's really weird. My OB suggested monistat cream or something, I've actually been using a nystatin (sp?) cream I had left over from a yeast infection, it seems to help.
Otherwise, he says to give the area as much air as possible, sleep in just boxers, etc.
It drives me nuts but it happened with my last pregnancy too, so I'm just trying to bear it.
I felt itchy & tender & swollen & wet down there for most of my pregnancy. The doc said you just produce more moisture down there when pregnant. You also have increased blood flow wish is why I got swollen. I think I took 2 or 3 showers a day and changed panties a lot, you can also wear panty liners. I aired out at night after a shower with loose fitting clothes. Sorry for all the tmi, but I hated that part of pregnancy. Good luck.
Re: itchy (tmi)
has your doc checked you for a yeast infection? I got them more when pg than i've had in my life.... body out of whack and all.
maybe some powder with zinc in it?
