B-Safe Users: Shopping Cart Question

Those of you who already have the Britax B-Safe - can you set the carrier on the child seat portion of the cart, or do you have to put it in the basket area?

 Also, would you recommend the seat to others?

Regardless of the kind of infant seat you have, you should never put it on top of the cart. In the basket is the safest place. Or use a stroller or baby carrier.

All car seats have a warning in the instructions not to do this. Please don't. A little 3 month old boy died in California Sept 21, 2011, when the cart hit a bump in the parking lot, the seat " unclipped" and fell face down on the pavement. I've seen it happen too, but luckily for the lo, mom was a quick catch and was able to grab the handle before it hit the ground. They were never meant to be in the top part of the cart. Use the main basket part, or wear baby, or use your stroller and pull the cart. It's pretty easy.

Oh, and the B-safe is a decent seat.

We have the B Safe & I would highly recommend it. We only put the seat in the basket part of a shopping cart.
