I've lost 3 pounds in the past 3 weeks. I was down two at my appointment on Wednesday and today I'm down another. Dr wasn't too concerned Wednesday but told me not to make a habit of it. DH basically force fed me the past two days and has been on my case all day about eating. I'll admit I have been eating less because I can only eat a little at a time.
Anyway, did this happen to anyone else? I have my next appointment a week from Monday so I was just going to wait until then but DH is driving me crazy. Im up 15 pounds since I got pregnant but was 15 pounds overweight to begin with. Don't know if that matters.
Re: Losing weight in third tri?
Could it be dehydration? Are you sure the measurements were equal in terms of what you were wearing or the time of day?
If the doctor wasn't concerned, DH shouldn't be either. The baby will take whatever they need (Honey Badger don't care
) - So really it's only YOU that is losing weight. So if you were 15 lbs overweight to begin with, your baby is just eating that!
I lost a few pounds later on in my third tri. I stopped guzzling water since I was so puffy, and some of the fluid came off I think.
*edited- 3rd tri, not 1st!
If you're really worried that you're not getting enough calories (which, I'm not sure I would be, but if you are), you could always try to throw a protein shake in somewhere in your day. Protein's always good for babies
.
Granted, I'm trying to meet very large protein reqs every day, but I have a yummy chocolate protein shake around 10 am, kind of as my second breakfast--sometimes I'll throw a banana, some peanut butter, whatever, in there.
I've only gained 5 pounds this trimester and well I'm still down 25 from before I got pregnant (thanks to my problem in the 2nd).
If the doctor isn't worried, you shouldn't (husband) shouldn't be either.
