Dust, T&P for DD

So I hardly ever post anymore... Having a new baby is a lot of work! :) I just wanted to ask for some dust, thoughts and prayers for our DD. She has a clogged tear duct that has been infected on and off since she was born. We just finished another round of antibiotic drops and it's still infected :(. Her pedi has referred us to a pediatric opthamologist to have surgery to open her tear duct. I'm super scared to have her put under anesthesia... She's still so little. I'd love some get better baby eye dust! And lots of dust, thoughts and prayers to everyone. It's been an icky few weeks for lots of you ladies :(

    Tons of dust for your DD!  I'm sure you are already doing this, but have you tried massaging the tear duct to help it open?

    Lots of T&Ps coming your way.  Hopefully the pedi ophthalmologist has some tricks up his/her sleeve to try first, before resorting to surgery.  Keep us updated!

    This, plus if you are bfing, you can drop milk/colostrum in her eye to help clear it. We went through the same thing with DD and saw Dr. Onan, who I highly recommend. DD did not need surgery then, but will need it soon for a related problem. I hope you are able to get it cleared up soon- lots of dust for her!

    DD had one a couple weeks after she was born too.  We did drops and massaging and it cleared up.  Hopefully hers will clear up as well so she doesn't have to have surgery.

    Thanks everyone!

    I have tried breastmilk, to no avail.  :(  We are doing the massage all the time, but nothing seems to be helping.

     We have an appt with the pediatric opthalmologist on Thursday.  They said they don't do the surgery until 9 months... so that is a good thing.  I was afraid they would try to push me into having the surgery done and I am just not comfortable with that yet.  I am hoping they have some other options for us, though.   I really hate seeing her eye looking so sad... and I am sure it itches like crazy!

    Poor thing! Dust that it clears up before surgery is necessary!

    *folic acid, baby asprin, Prometrium, acupuncture, Lovenox*
    BFP @ 9dpo 2.1.2012 || HCG = 8 : Progesterone = 19.2
    2nd HCG @ 11dpo = 40 || 3rd HCG @ 21dpo = over 5000!
