WWYD? Sleeping sick child

DD most likely had the flu since DH has confirmed type A and her temp hits 104.3 without meds. She has been asleep since 7:30pm last night, other than brief wake ups from bad dreams or needing Motrin. I want her to sleep tonight, but she obviously needs sleep now. What would you do? Let her sleep or get her up?

Re: WWYD? Sleeping sick child

  • Honestly, I would let her sleep.  You should try to get a nap too if you can in case she's up tonight.  I hope she's feeling better soon!

  • I would definitely let her sleep. She needs the rest to get well.

Hope she's feeling better soon and that no one else catches it!

  • I'd let her sleep too and nap myself (if possible) and have a chill movie on deck in case she wakes up in the middle of the night for a while. Blankets and pillows left on the sofa for cuddling :)

    Hope she feels better soon!

  • Along with the movie and blankets, I'd have a drink and a snack ready too!  I hate preparing food in the middle of the night.  I hope she's able to sleep through most of it and wakes up feeling much better.
  • Good call on having things prepared for the middle of the night. DS also has it and is wide awake, so no nap for me, but that's a good thought. Our pedi said she's only seen one case this year and we have 3 in our house right now. It sucks. But at least DD's resting, thanks for the input, I'll let her sleep.
