Help! Stomach bug germs - when will they go away?

I've been researching on how to sanitize our house after our stomach bug (and doing so), and I came across something last night that said that the germs can remain for UP TO 3 WEEKS after someone is feeling better, no matter how much you disinfect (if it's Noro, among others).  AH! 

It said not to allow people (esp. children) over during this time.  Is this completely paranoid? 

I already told LL she wasn't allowed over today.

Whenever it comes to our house, I use straight bleach on everything I can.  Counters, doorknobs, light switches, I wipe down every single door completely, wash all the sheets in super hot water, the fridge handles, EVERYTHING I can that won't get bleached out, it gets doused in bleach.  Clorox Cleanup is my best friend.

we steamed cleaned what we could, used bleach wipes on toys, ran laundry on sanitary.  as for not letting people over, we just let others know we had been sick and left it up to them.  my SIL chose to come over christmas (we were sick about 10 days before hand) and her LO and herself ended up with a very mild case of the stomach bug (one day whereas max was sick for 10 days).  her reasoning was the her LO was going to be exposed at some point.
