Would/will you get daycare teachers/infants V-day "gift" or card?

Would you/will you/did you do anything creative and fun for your infant's daycare teachers and/or other kids for Valentine's Day?  I enjoy doing little crafty stuff and really love his teachers, so I'm thinking I wouldn't mind putting a little time into something small and crafty this weekend.  Just looking for any ideas or thoughts.

I know they do stuff with them in their room for parents - they did footprint hearts the other day, adorable!  TIA :)

Re: Would/will you get daycare teachers/infants V-day "gift" or card?

  • My daycare sent home a list of all the kids' first names, so I assumed that meant it was expected to do something... I just threw together a digital card using my digital scrapbooking software to print out on 4x6 photos and give to each of them.  For the two teachers, I'll include a personal note since it will be our last week at that daycare (they're both trying to lose weight, so I will not be giving them boxes of chocolate!).

This is a work in progress, not finalized yet (and sorry so blurry, not sure what that's about)....

  • **butting in a former infant room daycare teacher*** I always enjoyed treats from parents, but I don't think it is "required."  I think a nice card or maybe a flower or small candy would be appropriate.  If the class only has infants it in, I wouldn't go too far with the gifts or anything for them, maybe just a valentine card that can be sent home and displayed on the fridge.  :)  Hope that helps.

  • I don't think so. The toddler room has 'parties' and I signed up to bring something. And we are supposed to bring valentines for the class, I might do extras for the teachers as well.

  • Our center doesn't celebrate holidays so I don't plan to.
  • I was thinking about doing this for the girls teachers.

  • I was going to suggest footprint hearts, which we did. Aren't they the cutest!?! Since I have a huge stash of old crayons, we also did these melted crayon hearts (since it's in-home, they have older kids that can use crayons):

I'm going to get the teachers some candy, or a little plants. :)

  • Yes, I'm doing cards and likely stickers for the kids. I have extra cards for the teachers, so they'll get one too
  • Thanks for all the responses guys!  Cute ideas! :)

  • Our center has a policy about annual gifts not exceeding $50 in value, so I'm not doing anything for V-day. I'd rather do one large gift at Christmas instead.

  • Lord, If I could find the time to do any of this stuff it would be a miracle. DIdn't even occur to me. Anyway, we gave very large Christmas bonuses, so we are still sort of reeling from all that. Just too many birthdays and new babies in my life right now to even think about Valentine's day.
