Should I feel guilty? Sports fans question...

OK, so for those who don't know, the Phillies won the World Series last night. Not only is it the first championship for the Phillies in 28 years, it is the first championship for any of our sports teams in 25 years--it's been sports hell pretty much my entire life. This win is HUGE here--the news has been talking about it pretty much nonstop since they won last night. Anyway, tomorrow is the victory parade and I'm DYING to go. However, it is also DD's first Halloween party at her daycare. She doesn't usually go on Fridays but we were going to bring her for the party. The question is, do we ditch the party and head to the parade, which will surely be awesome? I really want to go to the parade but I feel guilty for ditching the party. DD is not even 3, doesn't know what she'll be missing, we'll go trick-or-treating later anyway, and heck she'll probably have a more fun time at the parade. It's literally a historical event here. So why do I feel so guilty? WWYD???

Another Bostonian here and I agree - Victory Parades are great!!! Go to the parade!!!

  • Go to the parade!  You can take DD to the Halloween party next year, and the year after that, and the year after that...

  • You are all making me feel better. I was even going to mention the '04 (?) Red Sox victory as a frame of reference---you guys know what I'm talking about! OK, I'm that much closer to being parade-bound. Halloween happens every year and Philly teams win about every 30. She'll thank me when she's in her 20s and lamenting all the losses!

  • Yeah, I'd totally go to the parade. It's historic and will be a blast. You'll be regretting it if you don't go.
  • We've had our share in Detroit and they are awesome...go to the parade.  Like you said you DD will NOT remember missing a halloween party at her DC.
