The girls have had separate rooms for a while now. They did sleep in the same room for a while, until we put them in toddler beds a year ago.
Now, Audrey wants to sleep in her sister's room. However, they talk a bunch, and get up and play. We're going to buy some bunk beds in the near future (two sets, one for each room). I had planned on putting Corbin's crib in Audrey's room, and having Natalie share with Emma when she stays with us. Now, I just don't know. I suppose it would make more sense for Emma to sleep in Corbin's room, since she's only with us every other weekend.
Any suggestions?
Re: Where do your older twins sleep?
I think it is most logical for Emma to be with Corbin if she's only with you 4-6 days/mo. otherwise one twin will share FT.
This arrangement would probably need tweaking when they're older, but I think would be ok until middle school.
Mine have always shared a room, and yes, there are nights they stay up later than I'd like, talking and giggling, but they do okay otherwise.
I think it'd make the most sense to have Emma with the baby, but if you have a bed in there anyway, you can separate N&A if you have to (when Emma isn't there.)

My girls share a room because that's the only arrangement that works in our house. They do talk and giggle at night longer than I would like, and there are also nights when one wants to sleep and the other wants to play. I'd split them if I could, but there are equal issues when I separate them, since they hate being without their sister.
If you're going to have bunk beds, my concern would be how will the girls handle it? I've told my girls there will be no bunk beds until the bedtime shenanigans stop. I don't want the top bunk girl trying to climb out after lights out. So if you think they'll play, I would keep them separated.
I asked both DH and his twin brother how they felt about sharing a room their whole life, because we have the room to seperate if need be. Both said they loved sharing a room and their younger brother was jealous. They are different and had different interests but they shared a room through college. Maybe girls are different but if they girls want to sleep together, why not let them?
