Were any of you put on pelvic rest when you were pregnant with your LO?

I am currently pregnant with my second LO. At my appointment last month I told my doctor about some serious spotting I was having after sex a couple days previous to the appointment. Because everything looked normal at my appointment, my doctor said not to worry about it, but then joked about being put on pelvic rest if it kept happening.

 Well, last night it happened again...in a big way. I mean, it was a lot of blood. I've been watching it this morning, and being really careful with how much I move, etc. Because my doctor was joking when he made the comment about pelvic rest, I am not sure if that's what I am suppose to do. I have my next appointment on Monday, so I'm not sure if this is something I can wait to ask my doctor or not?

Was anyone else put on pelvic rest? What are the "rules"? What "happened" to cause your doctor to put you on pelvic rest? Any info. from you, mammas, will help me! Thanks!

If you had something more than just a little spotting after sex, then  yes, I would absolutely not have sex again until you talk to your Dr.

I had a partial previa and was put on pelvic rest from 20-28 weeks pregnant.  No sex, heavy lifting or strenuous exercise.

My OB also reminded me that pelvic rest means no orgasms and no other objects in my vagina. I think I turned 3 shades of red.  DS1 was pre term so I was on it from 28-37 weeks.

Thanks for sharing your experiences, Ladies. I called my OB and they said pelvic rest, at least until I see my dr. on Monday. Wishing they would have told me to come in today though so I can have some peace of mind. Thanks, again!
